Was just realizing that I never posted pics of the stuff I made for the Firefly/Serenity swap, and I thought I would share.

First up, we have a Serenity logo bag, with a pretty satin brocade lining (my first attempt at sewing something with pockets, so go me!

I am pleased with how it came out, but I never want to work with that fabric again. I had little bits of it everywhere.

Next are some strawberry shaped stitch markers made from felt.

I was really just looking for an excuse to make cute felt foods.

A set of felt backed coasters (seen here with my crafting partner: Smirnoff Twisted Watermelon)

A handmade journal, inspired by Kaylee's room sign (inside also has rub on flowers and butterflies)

A Kaylee inspired windchime (there were originally supposed to be tool parts in here as well, but I couldn't get them to work, but I still think it is cute and colorful and makes pretty noises)

And finally, Zoe and Kaylee dolls. I am not as happy with these as I would like. I don't know what was wrong with me, but I just couldn't get them to work the way I wanted, and almost considered not sending them at all. I am definitely having another go at this project when my wrist feels better.

Haven't posted a lot lately, so I thought I would share some pics to show that I haven't entirely been slacking.

So, here's some yarn I've spun:

Some stuff I've knitted:

So, I am working on a knitted bag for a swap package. The bag itself is done, though it needs a handle of some sort. Here's my problem. I started to make a lining for it, but it's not working out at all. I feel kind of bad sending an unlined bag, but I'd rather do that than send one with a crappy, ugly lining in it. I'm making a little extra present to compensate, but I still feel less than good about it. I hate to send a substandard present. Hmmph.

In other news, I still have 3 people whose Christmas presents are not done. I am really trying to get them done by the end of the month, but I'm not sure how that will work out, so don't hold your breath or anything.

I'm making a Calorimetry, and I think that making headbands may be my new thing. It's fun, and pretty much everyone has gotten a pair of mittens from me, so I need to move on to a different object. I have an idea for a fair isle patterned headband kicking around in my head. I'll have to see if I can get it to work.

I received fun stuff from my second Miyazaki swap partner. Check it out:

Totoro tote bag, Totoro stuffie, pom pom soot sprites, and acorn and kodama stitch markers.

Eeeee! Soot sprites!

I am pretty sure I now have one of the coolest collections of stitch markers ever. Wouldn't you agree?

The soot sprites and Totoro stuffie have made their homes on my desk amongst my other little friends.

Oh yeah. I received a box of zombie goodies from the girl I made Bub 2 for.

A domino pendant, with creepy b/w zombie image.

A Dawn of the Dead tote bag, and the movie Zombie, which, according to the blurb on the back, "set new standards for eyeball violence, arterial spurting, maggot infestations, topless skin-diving, and zombie table manners." I look forward to watching it.

A couple of people flaked on the skeleton/skull/bones swap that I was in, and because I had become friendly with the organizer (who was also the recipient of my crafting), she asked if I would help out by being an angel for the person who sent me the awesome package. I agreed, but said that I didn't have a whole lot of time to work on things for a couple of weeks, 'cause I'm busy with other swaps, but that I would get to it as soon as possible.

Because she is awesome, extrajoker volunteered to help out and make something. The next thing I knew, she had done this:

etched glass bottle w/ secret note.

Why IS the rum gone?

and this:

An address book.

and this:

A Memento Mori Mirror. Hooray consonantal alliteration!

and I had done:

nothing.

What a slacker I am. So, because one of the things she specifically asked for was some sort of bag, I whipped this up at work yesterday:

Tote bag with stamped skulls

my favorite skull

God. I suck.

However, at least the person who made a completely awesome swap package for me is getting some good stuff in return. Thanks so much for your help, extrajoker. You rock.
